Vera Nell Parsons Gosnell

Vera Nell Gosnell (75) of Jacksonville, Fl-passed away peacefully at Ascensions St. Vincent’s Southside, Thursday April 14, 2022 surrounded by family. Heaven gained another Angel. She was looking forward to gaining her wings to be healed and see her Savior and family. Many of us knew Vera as loving wife to Jerry, Momma to her daughters, Nanny to her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She absolutely loved her family. Vera was born in McCollum, Alabama. She was the daughter of Jackson and Bertha Mae Parsons(both parents deceased). Vera is survived by the love of her life , Husband-Jerry Gosnell – and they were Blessed to celebrate 60th Wedding Anniversary April 11, 2022. Daughters-(2) Sandra Patton and Melissa Barber. Grandchildren-(5) Sean LaBarge, Chris LaBarge, Zachary Theus (Brittany), Alexandra Hargrove (Stroker), Devin Barber. Great Grandchildren-(10)Ariana, Braiden, Bryson, Caroline, Zoe, Rylee, Memphis, Lexi, Abby, Lilly. Sister- Annie Mae Cox. Brother In-Law-Ken Gosnell. She was Preceded in death by her siblings- Ellen Headley (sister) Howard Parsons(brother), Virginia Cochran(sister), Patricia Seals(sister), Eleanor Pitts(sister), Tony Gosnell (grandson). Vera was a longtime member of Hillcrest Baptist , Jacksonville, Florida. After a long career with the Department of Corrections, Vera retired from the State of Florida. In retirement Vera enjoyed spending time with her family, traveling to the Mountains in Tennessee and reading a good book. Celebration of life Service will be held at Corey-Kerlin Funeral Home 940 Cesery Blvd, Jacksonville, Fl 32211 on Thursday April 28, 2022. Viewing at 11:00am with Services at 12 noon followed by Internment at the National Cemetery- 4083 Lannie Rd. at 2 p.m.
