Sandra Inches Dunkley

January 15, 1938 - January 24, 2022

Sandra Inches Dunkley, 84, passed away peacefully Monday, January 24, 2022 with her loving husband by her side. She was born on January 15, 1938 in Lake City, Florida to the late Beatrice Elizabeth Douglas Inches and Charles Edwin Inches. Sandra leaves to cherish her memory, her husband of 63 years, Fred A. Dunkley, Jr, her daughter, Monica Urbanek (Larry), son, Scott C. Dunkley (Penny), four granddaughters, Kelli Urbanek, Michelle Ellis (Jonathon), Jessica Gamo (Remo), Eileen "Kristin" Boiko (Zach), six great-grandchildren, her sister, Delilah Stites, her aunt, Alice "Allie" Thomas (105 years young), numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and many adoring friends. Sandra moved to Jacksonville as an infant, and relocated to eastern North Carolina for several years of her childhood before moving back to Jacksonville, Florida where she graduated from Andrew Jackson High School with the June class of 1956. For many years she worked as an executive secretary, retiring in 2000 from the Jacksonville Aviation Authority. Everyone who knew her could expect a greeting with a smile and a warm hug. She was well known for making delicious meals and always wanting your plate full, offering seconds and thirds! She had a passion and talent for sewing and loved when family and friends would ask her for alterations. She enjoyed music and occasionally played the piano at her father's sermons as a teen. Fort Caroline Baptist has been her church home for many years. Sandra had a generous heart and was always kind and thinking of others. This sweet, beautiful lady will be dearly missed as God needed His angel to come home. The family will receive guests, Monday, January 31st from 5-7pm at Corey-Kerlin Funeral Home located at 940 Cesery Blvd, Jacksonville, FL 32211. A celebration of Sandra's life officiated by Pastor Joe Otwell, will be held Tuesday, February 1st at 11am at the same location. Donations may be made in Sandra's memory to her favorite charity, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. stjude.org/donatetoda
