Milas Edwin (Eddie) King passed away at home on November 17, 2021 at the age of 72. Eddie was a US Coast Guard and US Navy veteran having served 4 years in the US Coast Guard and 16 years in the US Navy. During his time in the military he served aboard the USCGC Madrona (WLB-302) (Oct 74 – Jul 76), USS Brule (AKL-28) (NOV 67 – NOV 68), USS Springfield (CLG-7) (Jan 69 – Oct 69), USS Davis (DD-937) (Jul 81 – Dec 82), USS Holland (AS-32) (Feb 83 - Mar 85) and USS Petrel (ASR-14) (Apr 87 – Aug 91). Following his retirement from the US Navy Eddie and his wife, Joyce, moved to their dream home on the water in Walterboro, SC and then later to Jacksonville, FL in 2019. During his retirement he enjoyed fishing, boating, and keeping up with his favorite sports teams. He was a member of the Omar Shrine Hillbillies Clan #82, Hammerton Lodge #332 (Charleston, South Carolina), and the American Legion Post 283 (Jacksonville, Florida). Eddie is survived by his wife, Joyce; brother Gary King (Melody); sister Linda Poss; daughters, Donna and Robin, grand-sons Richard Curry (April), Brian Curry (Kendall), Branden Dyke (Ashley), and Nicholas Papandrea; and his grandchildren, Aiden, Jayse, and Isla along with several nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his parents and his daughter, Tracy. Eddie’s interment will be with full military honors at the Jacksonville National Cemetery, in Jacksonville, Florida on January 7, 2022 at 2 PM sharp. The King family has entrusted the arrangements to Corey-Kerlin Funeral Homes & Crematory (Arlington location).
