Michael Thomas Rosensteel, 68 passed away on Monday, November 23, 2020. Michael was born on May 3, 1952 in Bloomington, Illinois to Howard J. Rosensteel and Eloise Moberly Rosensteel. He graduated from St. Rose of Lima Elementary School and went on to Archbishop Curley High School, graduating in 1970. In 1984 Michael moved to Jacksonville, Florida. He loved living in Florida where he could participate in his favorite outdoor activities, boating, camping, surfing and hiking. Michael worked and volunteered for several companies and groups. After graduating from Southern Illinois University with a B.S. in Education he worked for Life stream Organization, Cable Vision and later became a Senior Advisor in the Health and Financial Care for Seniors. He volunteered in helping with fund raisers in Schools and churches, including St. Anastasia Catholic Church in St. Augustine, the Sulzbacher Center for the homeless. He was a long time member of Assumption Catholic Church. He enjoyed his large family, friends, any outdoor activity, especially boating and volunteering. Mike was predeceased by his parents, and his brothers John T. Rosensteel and James E. Rosensteel. Michael is survived by William Franklin Rosensteel (Lola), Nancy Masteller (Gene – deceased), Therese Quinn (James – deceased), Timothy Rosensteel (Carol), and Stephen H. Rosensteel; two sisters-in-law, Patty Rosensteel and Joyce Rosensteel. Mike also delighted in his many nieces and nephews, John T. Rosensteel, Beth Ann Rosensteel, Greg Rosensteel, Bodie Beitz, Missie Kennedy, Scott Masteller, Kevin Masteller, Bryan Masteller, Erin Masteller, Michelle Littlefield, Jamie Rosensteel, James Rosensteel, Josie Rosensteel, Timothy Rosensteel, Georgia Hendricks and Kelly Rosensteel. Michael lived a full active life and will be missed by many. A Memorial Mass will be held on Saturday, November 28, 2020 at 10:00 a.m. at Assumption Catholic Church, 2403 Atlantic Blvd., Jacksonville, FL 32207 with Father Jason Trull as celebrant. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the McGraw Center for Caring, 4715 Worral Way, Jacksonville, FL 32224, or a charity of your choice. Arrangements are being handled by Corey-Kerlin Funeral Home, 940 Cesery Blvd., Jacksonville, FL 32211.
