Mary Madeline Williams

February 14, 1923 - May 3, 2022

Mary “Madeline” Shouppe Williams, 99, passed away on May 3, 2022. Madeline was born February 14, 1923, in Marianna Florida, the daughter of Mancy and Gaudy Shouppe. At an early age Madeline and her family moved to Polk County Florida. Madeline graduated from Summerlin Institute, Bartow, Florida Class of 1941. Following graduation, Madeline married Thomas Raymond Williams. They spent time in Norfolk, VA, where her husband was stationed during WWII. After the war they returned to Florida. Madeline led a full and happy life. Madeline was secretary to the President of Florida Southern College in Lakeland and was a successful real estate agent in Tampa. She became a Life Member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Tropical Chapter No. 38, Bartow, FL. She was also a member of Daughters of the Nile, Temple Chapter No. 85. In the early 1970s, the Williams' moved to Jacksonville, FL. Madeline continued her activities and association memberships as a member of Lakeview Christian Fellowship, she was a Life Member and Past President of the Baptist Medical Center Auxiliary. Madeline was an avid gardener and world traveler. In addition to her husband, she is predeceased by her parents and siblings (Beatrice, Eunice, and Oakley). Madeline was blessed to be loved and survived by many nieces and nephews. She especially relied on her caregivers A Chandler, A Davenport, P Graham, C Grossholz, C Hegyi. J McCaughey and V Starke. Visitation and service will be held in the chapel of the Corey-Kerlin Funeral Home located at 940 Cesery Blvd., Jacksonville, FL 32211 on Saturday June 11, 2022. Visitation begins at 12:00 p.m. with a service in the chapel at 1:00 p.m. Her final resting place will be in Lakeland, Florida.
