James Morris Ford Jr.

December 9, 1946 - March 11, 2022

James Morris Ford, Jr. went home to Jesus on March 11, 2022, at age 75. Jim was born to James and Virginia Ford on December 9, 1946, in Gadsden, Ala. He graduated from Gadsden High School in 1965 and Jacksonville State University in 1969, where he played on the golf team. His joining the U.S. Navy brought him to Jacksonville, Fla., where he met and married Nancy Richardson, to whom he was married for almost 51 years. He served in the Navy for 38 years and worked for Imeson Distribution for 32 years. In addition to being a loving husband and father, Jim loved to sing in the choir at Jacksonville First Baptist Church, play golf, and watch football (especially his beloved Alabama Crimson Tide). He enjoyed spending time with his family and going on summer trips to Panama City Beach and visiting his family in Alabama. He was a quiet man with a dry sense of humor, but when he spoke, people listened. Jim joins his parents, James and Virginia, and his older sister, Anne, in Heaven. He is survived by his wife Nancy, his younger brother Tommy, his children Cassie and Stephanie, and his grandchildren Travis, Wyatt, and Oma-lee. Jim was laid to rest with military honors on March 18, 2022, at Jacksonville National Cemetery.
