James Carlton Dickey

James “Jim” Carlton Dickey - Age 76, went to be with his Lord and Savior on October 14, 2021 after a courageous battle with COPD and cancer. Jim was born on September 1, 1945 in Statesboro, GA to Odis and Myrtle Dickey. He attended Savannah High School. Jim served two tours in the Vietnam war. He was a naval architect and marine engineer at CDI Marine for over 20 years. He was happily married to Dawn Dickey who was his partner in life for 28 years at the time of his death. Jim is survived by his wife, 5 children, 5 grandchildren, 1 great-grandchild, and numerous others. Jim loved spending time with his family and cats, traveling, reading, and telling his life stories. He was an extremely bright and loving man, who touched many lives with his generosity and passion for life. Jim was loved by many and will be dearly missed. A Committal Service with Military Honors will be held at the Jacksonville National Cemetery on Friday, November 19th, 2021 at 1:30 p.m. (Lane 3) in the afternoon. In lieu of flowers, the family would like to request donations be made in Jim's memory to the charities of: First Coast No More Homeless Pets or Jacksonville Humane Society. Jim held these two charities very close to his heart.
