Harry James "Jim" Capell

CAPELL-Harry James “Jim” Capell, 78, passed away peacefully Sunday, November 7, 2021 in Jacksonville, Florida. Jim was born in Ocala, Florida, on June 18, 1943 to the late Harry Layton Capell and Margaret Chalker Capell. He was also preceded in death by his loving wife of 48 years Kathleen Marlier Capell, and a brother, Bobby Capell. Jim is survived by his 2 daughters, Jennifer A. Capell and JoAnn A. Capell; his sister, Mary Ellen Leake; his brother and sister in law, William L. Capell and Deb Capell; 3 brothers-in-law and sister-in-law, Jim Marlier and Carla Marlier, Edward Marlier, and Ken Marlier; a sister-in-law, Marti Dion (Russ Harvey) and many nieces and nephews. Jim had lived in Jacksonville, Fl. since the age of 7 and later graduated from Terry Parker High School. He also attended Florida State University and remained an avid Seminole fan as well as a Jacksonville Jaguar fan. Jim enjoyed all sports with golf, racquetball, jogging and coaching softball being his favorite. Funeral Services are scheduled for 10:30 a.m. Friday, November 12, at the Church of the Redeemer Anglican Church, 6065, 4815 Executive Park Ct., #201, Jacksonville, FL 32216 with The Rev. Bill Driscoll, Rector officiating. A reception will immediately follow the services at the Church. The Interment will follow the reception at 2:00 p.m. Friday at the Arlington Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Thursday, November 11 at Corey-Kerlin Funeral Home, 940 Cesery Blvd., Jacksonville, FL 32211. Flowers will be gratefully accepted or Memorials in Jim’s name can be made to his Church or the Jacksonville Humane Society.
